‘Aapka Aadhaar’ dumped near Alwar
Thousands of original identity and official documents were found dumped at thickets near Thanagazi, Alwar, of which, hundreds were Aadhaar cards and more than 2,000 other documents were related to banking and insurance. All these documents are related to residents of Sanganer area of Jaipur, nearly 120 kilometers away from the site of recovery. Interestingly, sources claim that the documents, now seized by the local police, are supposed to be undelivered mail. A case has been registered under the Indian Postal Act.
“As of now we have registered a case against unknown person under the Indian Postal Act,” Police Superintendent, Alwar Rahul Prakash said. “Investigations are still in early stage and possibilities of a foul play can not be denied,” he added.
Misuse of these documents could have lead to major problems for their original bearers. It is also a clear violation of the bearers’ privacy, which the apex court recently upheld as a Fundamental Right. However, sources said that it could have been a lethargic official at post to have put personal data of so many people at risk.
