Google updates web store to make buying the Pixel 2 easier
It ought to be at least a little bit easier to get a Pixel this year. Google says it’s updating its online store so that if the Pixels are out of stock, you’ll be able to reserve one and hold a place in line.
In the past, you had to put your name on a waiting list and then wait for Google to email you. These updates don’t sound like they change the situation dramatically, but it seems like they should make ordering the new Pixels a little bit easier.
Last year, Google had a tough time keeping both models of its phone in stock. Some of that may have been due to demand, but it seemed more to do with Google’s suppliers simply being unable to produce enough of them.
One would imagine that Google would have taken that as a sign to ramp up…
