Another case of molestation reported from BHU campus
It seems that Benares Hindu University authorities haven’t done enough to curb the harassment of their female students on campus. Another case of harassment was reported late Thursday after a girl returning to her hostel room was slapped on the head, and subsequently catcalled by three unidentified motorcycle-borne individuals
The girl shouted for help and immediately informed the BHU authorities, including the first lady Chief Proctor Prof Royana Singh. A search was conducted for the motorcycle-borne miscreants in campus till late Thursday night by security guards, without any luck.
“They could not be traced. We are also retrieving CCTV footage to identify the three youth,” said Prof Singh.
The victim told her hostel inmates that the three youth first made some inaudible remarks and when she did not react they slapped her on head from behind – the impact of which caused her to nearly lose balance and fall down. They sped away when she raised an alarm.
