ABVP breaks jinx, wins 4 top posts in Agra University
After facing rout in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi University (DU), Allahabad University (AU) and other state universities, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the RSS, finally broke the jinx winning four out of five top positions in Agra’s Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University Students’ Union polls.
The ABVP pocketed the President, Vice-President, General Secretary and Joint Secretary posts in elections held on Monday. The ABVP’s Abhishek Mishra was elected President, Kritika Solanki Vice-Ptresident, Chandrajeet Yadav General Secretary and Kunal Diwakar won as joint secretary.
The clean sweep in Agra University assumes importance for the ABVP as it could not open even its account during last elections. This year, ABVP wrested two seats from Samajwadi Chatra Sabha to revenge its defeat in Allahabad University only a three days ago and one from NSUI.
Recently, the Samajwadi Party Chatra Sabha had defeated ABVP candidates on four seats. The ABVP candidate could win only on General Secretary post. Allahabad University used to be ABVP stronghold.
