UP Minister’s convoy mows down 8-year-old boy
An eight-year-old boy was run over by the convoy of the Yogi Adityanath Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. The minister and his convoy did not bother to stop the vehicles to take the child to the hospital. Instead, they sped away leaving the body of the boy in a pool of blood.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the incident and has ordered an inquiry into the accident. He also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs to the family of the boy killed.
The police have registered a case of negligence and rash driving and seized the car of the minister’s convoy involved in the accident.
According to boy’s father Vishwanath Gowasmi, his son Shiva was playing on the side of the road which connects Colonelganj and Paraspur in Gonda district when he was attracted by the hooter of the convoy. He came on the road to see. Before his family members, who were accompanying him, could understand anything, a speeding vehicle of the minister’s convoy hit him. He died on the spot.
