Uddhav Thackeray sought my advice to deal with BJP’s growing clout: Sharad Pawar
At a time when Shiv Sena is toeing the fine line between being an alliance partners and also vehemently opposing the BJP government in the state and Centre, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar has claimed that Sena chief Uddhav had met him at his residence ten days ago.
Pawar was quoted saying by Firstpost.com that Uddhav Thackeray met the NCP chief at his Mumbai residence to seek his advice. Pawar said that Thackeray had reached out to him to seek advice on the saffron wave in Maharashtra.Pawar told reporters that he asked Sena chief to make their position clear in the state assembly following which NCP would also do likewise.
Earlier in the day, Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray had defended Sena’s vocal criticism of their alliance partner.
He had written: “No one would like to be an opposition in government. One would be happier defending the government, if it is morally defensible anymore.” Aaditya wrote that Sena would have kept the criticism behind closed doors if the BJP listened but since that didn’t happen, Sena were forced to voice their opinion publicly.
