Soon, elite force for Metro security
Explosion at the Parsons Green station of the London Tube — the underground metro rail service in September, had also left the Indian agencies worried. Preparing to tackle any such disaster and combat terror attacks in Delhi Metro, the CISF has now raised a special elite force of 40 commandos who specialise in terror intrusion and close combat.
Director General, Central Industrial Security Force, told DNA that equipped with advanced automatic weapons and armours along with canines the module that has been trained at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA), Hyderabad, is ready to take on any adversity.
“The effort has been taken in order to specifically train our jawans to tackle any possible threats in metro trains. Their training includes anti-terror intrusions, anti-highjack combat, dealing with chemical attacks, biological disaster, explosions and any other emergency that may put human life and state property into danger. After completing their training these 40 men excel in hostage crisis, eliminating enemies, speedy evacuations and protecting passengers,” a senior CISF officer said.
These men have also been trained in multiple martial art tactics for close combat, like Israeli fighting style Krav Maga and a set of Japanese martial arts — Jujutsu, Kenp and Aikido. “The commandos …read more
