Ex-model says husband forcing her to convert, files complaint

A Mumbai-based former model has filed a complaint with Bandra Police Station alleging that her husband assaulted and tortured her, forcing her to convert to his faith.

A case of molestation has been registered in Bandra Police station against both of them. On the other hand, the husband also approached the Bandra police complaining that his wife had assaulted him. The police have also registered a non-cognisable offence in this matter.

According to the complainant, her husband got married to another woman in October, and since then, all three have been staying together. On Friday at around 5 pm, her husband and his friend Munir came to their home and asked the victim to leave the house. When she asked him for a reason, the husband allegedly started assaulting her and said that if she did not convert, she would have to put up with this and threatened to bar her from meeting their 7-year-old child.

“We have registered complaints and are probing the matter. We have conducted a medical examination on the couple as both were injured. We verifying the claims made by the victim,” said Pandit Thackeray, senior PI, Bandra police station.
