City tariffs still visitor-friendly
In contrast to popular beliefs, Jaipur city is not expensive and is reasonably priced for tourists of all statures, even during the peak December season. However, there are other issues that need to be dealt with.
A recent survey by TripAdvisor(R) stated that the accommodation during the last month of the year rose up to Rs 29,469, which is the highest among New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Pune.
However, tourism experts including Hotel Association of Jaipur believe that the living expenses including the room rates and meal prices come to the break-even of ‘normal’ during the peak season.
“The tariff during the peak season cannot be termed as ‘high’ because this is the ‘normal price’ and we even don’t get that rate throughout the year. The tariff which we used charge about five years ago has even come down considerably whereas, our expenses have gone up,” said AC Maini, patron, Hotel Association of Jaipur. A good four-star hotel can be made available between the price range of Rs 18,000 to Rs 22,000 for three nights, even during the peak season, informed Khalid Khan, president, Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators.
