Ola driver allegedly harasses Bengaluru woman, uses child lock to trap her in cab
An Ola cab driver allegedly harassed a 23-year-old woman after trapping her in the car using child lock on Sunday night. The woman, whose mobile phone battery had run out, could not alert anyone and was let go by the driver after she started banging on the windows and screamed.
According to a report by the NDTV, the incident took place around 10.30 pm on Sunday when the woman, a fashion stylist, booked the cab. The driver took her to a deserted spot on the Ring Road in south east Bengaluru and suddenly stopped, the woman said.
The driver then locked the doors engaging child locks and started harassing her.
The woman said he kept harassing her until he was forced to unlock the car when she banged on the windows and screamed.
The woman said that she ran for a few hundred meters before she found an auto-rickshaw.
“There was nobody on the road. I was looking out of the window when he suddenly stopped and started touching my legs. I warned him and tried to damage the car. He let me go then. He tried calling me later to warn me but then I blocked his number,” she was …read more
