Gujarat elections 2017: BJP brought water to Idar, Vadali
In a direct attack to Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that Congress does not have primary information about facts and spread lies. Raking the issue of water crisis, Modi said, “There was a time when Idar, Vadali and other such places remained thirsty and used to get water once a week. Under Sujalam Suflam Yojana, BJP brought water and Congress does not even remember these places.”
“During that time, there were dams but the water of Mahi river would go into the sea. Then Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote to me and the Centre that I can’t take Mahi’s water. He had problems when the farmers of Sabarkantha, Banaskantha and Aravalli were dying due to water crisis,” he said.
Modi added, “Today there is an environment of development and the common man gets benefits out of it. Had there been no BJP or its vision in Gujarat, there would have been no development. There is no village where I do not know five people by name. Tell me, which Prime Minister would know people by names?
