Ambitious Rs 6.5K cr Parwan agri project initiated by Raj-Centre
Accusing Congress government for delaying ambitious Parwan irrigation project, chief minister, Vasundhara Raje has claimed that her government worked with sincerity on the project and laid its foundation, finally. She was addressing a gathering in Baran district where she along with Union road surface and water minister, Nitin Gadkari laid foundation stones and inaugurated development works worth Rs8,487 crore, including Rs 6,490 crore of Parwan alone.
“Congress has done politics in 50 years of its rule but we implemented it. When it gets completed, it will become lifeline of Baran, Jhalawar and Kota districts. The dam capacity of this project is 490 million cubic metre. After completion, 317million cubic metres of water will be available for irrigation. Along with irrigation, this project will also provide 50 million cubic metres of water to quench thirst of 1,821 villages of Baran, Jhalawar and Kota districts. The thermal power generation of 2,970 MW will be achieved with 79 million cubic metre of the project,” Raje spoke here at a rally.
The project is set to be a boon for three districts of Hadoti region- Baran, Jhalawar and Kota- where over 2 lakh hectare will get sufficient water. By laying foundation the government fulfilled a major …read more
