Young Raj set to decode India
With by-polls approaching, it would be interesting to see which party has caught the attention of youngsters who will vote for the first time. Moreover, no party has out-rightly gone out to win the votes of the first-timers.

The young voters are set to play a crucial role in Ajmer, Alwar parliamentary and Mandalgarh Assembly constituencies. About 3.7 lakh new voters, mostly youth, have been registered in the electoral rolls of these bypoll-bound constituencies.
Needless to say the swing of new voters will decide these bypolls which have been dubbed as semifinals of Rajasthan Assembly election slated in the end of the year.
In Ajmer, where death of Sanwar Lal Jat on August 9 necessitated bypoll, nearly 10 per cent of new voters have been added by the election commission of India (ECI) under its door-to-door programme. It has 1.57 lakh new voters whereas the margin by which the late Jat defeated Sachin Pilot in 2014 election was 1.72 votes.
Similarly, in Alwar, 1.92 lakh voters will exercise their franchise for the first time, which is 12 per cent higher than 2014 election. Mahant Chandnath, whose untimely death vacated Alwar MP seat, had won the election with a margin of 2.84 …read more
