Paadmavat: BJP’s use of violence setting country on fire- Rahul Gandhi on students attacked in Gurugram
Breaking his silence about Karni Sena’s protest against Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Paadmavat, Rahul Gandhi today condemned school children being attacked in Gurugram.
Congress President who was conspicuous by his silence over this burning issue finally took to Twitter to strongly protest vandalism of Karni Sena. However, he put the blame on BJP for the violent protest against the movie, which is slated to be released on Friday.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted:
There will never be a cause big enough to justify violence against children. Violence and hatred are the weapons of the weak. The BJP’s use of hatred and violence is setting our entire country on fire.

Protests against Padmaavat took an ugly turn when activists of the Karni Sena, who were protesting against the release of the movie, attacked a school bus carrying students in Gurugram on Wednesday. In another incident, a Haryana Roadways bus was set afire near Bhondsi village. However, no one was injured. The incidents took place just hours after the Haryana Police claimed that nobody would be allowed to disrupt peace in the state in the wake of the controversial movie’s release on Thursday.
