How can you ‘celebrate’ Afzal Gurus, Yakub Memons, can’t understand this non sense: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu

In a curt message to the sympathisers of Afzal Guru and Yakub Memon, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said that this glorification must stop.

Delivering the RV Raju memorial lecture in New Delhi, the Vice President slammed those who praise such men. ‘You can’t celebrate Afzal Gurus. What’s this non sense I can’t understand. How can you just celebrate someone? Yakub Memons who tried to kill innocent people! I wonder how such people can be sympathised,’Naidu was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Afzal Guru was convicted and hanged in the Parliament attack case and Yakub Memon was also convicted and hanged for his involvement in the 1993 serial bombings in Mumbai. Naidu said that such acts would not be tolerated.
