After domestic abuse scandal hits White House, Trump says lives being destroyed by mere allegation
Calling for ‘due process’, US President Donald Trump on Saturday said that people’s lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation, in the wake of the resignations of two White House aides after their ex-wives accused them of domestic abuse.
“Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation,” Trump said in a tweet, after Staff Secretary Rob Porter and speech writer David Sorensen resigned this week.
“Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new,” Trump said.
“There is no recovery for someone falsely accused – life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?” he said.
