SAvIND, 5th ODI | ‘Nice display of ruining between wickets’: Twitter furious after another Virat-Rohit mix-up
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were involved in yet another run-out on Tuesday. The skipper was dismissed after a mix-up with the opener during the fifth ODI between India and South Africa in Port Elizabeth.
The incident happened in the 26th over of the Indian innings, bowled by pacer Morne Morkel. Rohit, batting on 75 at the time, dabbed the ball towards the point region. Before the Mumbaikar could realise, Virat had come more than halfway down the pitch in search for a single. Rohit sent the skipper back but JP Duminy came running in from point and threw a direct hit with Virat well short.
Although Rohit did take a small start after playing his shot, Virat had no business running full throttle for that single. There was no chance either batsmen would’ve made it. Virat, of course, was livid and made his annoyance known with his usual animated gestures.
