Wow-man: Eves to ‘man’ Gandhinagar station
Raj karega Women and Women raj. These terms are no more just mere captions to adorn articles or campaigns. From Monday, Gandhinagar station will add another feather to its cap.It will make us proud by having an all-women team to “man” the station.
As per the Main Line Section of Indian Railways’ template,Jaipur’s Gandhi Nagar railway station will be the first in the country to achieve this.
However, before this, Mumbai’s suburban section station Matunga started working with an all-women staff in Janaury.
In the Gandhinagar team, Neelam Jatav will be the superintendent.
The staff strength will be about 20-25 personnel across various positions like ticket checker, booking staffer, radio announcer, pointsman, at positions in commercial and operation department.
Even the RPF personnel posted on this station will be women.There will be the usual three-shift system and it will be an all-women staff.
A function will be held in the station at 4 pm on Monday to mark the occasion.
The men staffers who worked there till recently, have been shifted to other stations. This will be a moment of pride for Rajasthan as this initiative is being taken in the state while other states are yet to think on such lines.
