One two ka four: How health department babus faked to fill up nurse posts
More skeletons are tumbling out from nursing recruitment scam which took place five years ago. After irregularities in recruitment of disabled persons, the DNA has got evidence to prove that officials cleverly showed vacant posts as filled to mislead the government.
While recruiting vacant posts, the officials found a novel way of showing that seats were full. The health department used disabled candidates for this purpose. It registered one disabled person simultaneously into two categories; SC and disabled. So a person was given two appointments to fill the posts.
Posts vacant yet no job So far, in nursing recruitment, 325 seats were considered filled from disabled quota whereas total seats are 337. Several candidates were given appointment without certificate from the medical board. Besides, appointments were declared in both the reserved categories – SC and disabled. The fact is that there are 50 posts vacant. But, candidates like Prem Kumari are still waiting for the appointment.
The truth is out in open now. It is clear that the health department officials were involved in the scam. When the DNA contacted additional director Rakesh Sharma, he refused to answer the call.
