In veiled attack against BJP, Mamata Banerjee says her next target is ‘Lal Qila’
While the BJP has set West Bengal as their next target after winning Tripura, state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that her target was ‘Lal Qila’.
“Some people are saying that they are targeting Bengal next. In that case, let me tell them that our target is Lal Qila,” the CM said addressing a public meeting at Purulia district on Monday.
Her comments came as a reply to BJP national president Amit Shah’s comments, who, after the party’s impressive victory at Tripura had said that unless Bengal, Kerala and Odisha were won the party would not reach its golden era.
Mamata also said that BJP had robbed off thousands of crores of money from the common people and spent those to win elections. “This strategy of BJP will not work in Bengal because people over here cannot be purchased or can be divided by sparking communal riots,” she said.
Earlier during the day while chairing an administrative meeting at Durgapur in West Burdwan district, Mamata said that youths who would be able to give specific information about trouble-mongers would receive cash award or a government job.
