Quest to bring back terrorist son ends in tragedy

A distraught father’s quest to persuade his terrorist son to renounce violence and return home ended on a tragic note on Monday when he was killed in an encounter with the security forces at Hakoora village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Mohammad Eisa Fazili, a BTech dropout, was among three terrorists killed at Hakoora village on Sunday night. Soon after Eisa joined terrorist ranks last year, his father Naeem Fazili had written an emotional post on Facebook, urging his son to return. Though he deleted the post later, it had gone viral by then.

“Eisa, your innocence is being exploited by some vested interests. You are being used as a pawn or a poster boy. I swear you are not on the right track in the light of Quran and Sunnah. Please don’t play with fire. Return as early as possible. Your mum is wandering hither and thither with your belongings in hands. Mind it, one can never succeed in absence of prayers of his parents,” Naeem Fazili wrote on Facebook.

Even on Monday morning, Naeem took to Facebook again informing people about the death of his son. Later, he posted the timing of the funeral prayers on social media.
