Steven Spielberg’s ‘Ready Player One’ gets standing ovation at SXSW, check out first reactions
From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the action-adventure Ready Player One, based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon.
The movie had its world premiere at South by Southwest film, media, and music conference in Austin, Texas.
The premiere had a glitch when the sound went out during an important scene towards the end of the movie. A few seconds later, the screen froze up, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
That was enough to send Spielberg into panic mode. “That was probably the greatest anxiety attack I’ve ever had,” the director said.
Despite the snag, the film received a standing ovation from the crowd. And the race to put up the Twitter reactions began. Here’s what the people who attended the screening had to say.
If this doesn’t answer whether people loved #ReadyPlayerOne, I don’t know what will. pic.twitter.com/2uXGYCAck7
