Self-styled godman rape case transferred to Delhi Crime Branch
The woman who accused a self-styled godman Ashu Bhai Guruji of raping her and also molesting her daughter went to the Crime Branch office to record her statement on Tuesday. The woman, in her complaint, told the police, that it was not just the godman but also her son who sexually exploited her and later asked her to bring her daughter as well.
On Tuesday, the woman’s statement under section 164 of the CrPc was recorded. The police have also recovered a voter identity card in which the name of the godman is mentioned as Asif Khan and his son’s name as Samar Khan even though the pictures are of the godman and his son. The police officials are verifying the identity card.
The woman told the police that she had gone to wish him on Diwali in 2013 at the Rohini Ashram, when he along with his associate, sexually assaulted her. Ashu’s manager Ravi Shankar gave her water laced with sedatives following which she lost consciousness. When she woke up she told the accused that she would narrate her ordeal to everyone but the accused told her that he would eliminate her entire family.
