Back Story: For Mumbai Indians, time is running out
If MI do want to take any positive from their morale-crushing loss, and they would be clutching at straws here, it would be Kieron Pollard’s consistent batting.
RCB v MI | Bangalore | Notes from last games
Bangalore (lost to SRH)
What went right: Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal continues to be RCB’s trump-card. The Bangalore batsmen only managed 166 against SRH but that was enough for Chahal to show off his trickery, getting rid of David Warner and Kane Williamson.
What went wrong: Dinesh Karthik, despite his Rs 10.5 crore price-tag, has been RCB’s dud of the season with scores of 6 and 9.
Mumbai (lost to CSK)
What went right: If MI do want to take any positive from their morale-crushing loss, and they would be clutching at straws here, it would be Kieron Pollard’s consistent batting. Rohit Sharma getting runs at No.4 is a good sign as well.
What went wrong: Almost everything. Their top-order continues to flop with no improvement in sight. Their bowling has looked toothless.
Conclusion
RCB have been invisible this season, not having played for close to a week. They will start favourites at home against a hapless MI outfit.
