Workshops to the rescue of parents dreading kids’ summer vacations
For parents of young children, summer vacations are hardly a time to relax. The little bundles of joy, with excess time and energy on hand, can unnerve even the most stoic of guardians. But fret not, for help is on its way.
The India Habitat Centre (IHC) has come up with a slew of workshops that will not only keep the children occupied for the next two months but also hone their hidden talents.
Youngsters can bring out the actor, director, or writer inside them at the Advanced Theatre Workshop for Children, by V K Sharma of Khilona Theatre for Children and Young. This production-oriented workshop is for those in the age group 9-16 years, who have already had some exposure to theatre or have a natural talent for it. The workshop will culminate in a musical developed by students.
In a similar vein, renowned theatre personality Barry John’s acting studio will focus on participants’ creativity, confidence, and cooperation, developed through games, theatre exercises, and improvisations.
