Apple Music’s latest exclusive acquisition is a documentary about Clive Davis
Apple Music has picked up exclusive rights to the documentary Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives yesterday. The acquisition was announced just before the film’s premiere kicked off the first night of the Tribeca Film Festival.
Directed by Chris Perkel (best known for editing Cameron Crowe’s Pearl Jam Twenty), the film is based on Davis’ 2013 autobiography, and follows a half-century of musical history influenced by the iconic label executive — from Aretha Franklin to Bruce Springsteen to Christina Aguilera.
This will be Apple Music’s third exclusive documentary film, following Taylor Swift’s The 1989 World Tour: Live, which premiered in December 2015, and 808: The Movie, a history of the 808 drum machine that debuted on the…
