Jaipur: ‘Raped’, girl abandons school in shame
The ordeal of a 16-year-old of rape victim of Beelkheda village in Baran district shows no signs of ending. The victim and her father have been running from pillar to post since November 21 for justice but to no avail. In fact, the alleged rapists are roaming freely and even threatening the girl and her father. The girl, who wants to continue her education, has even stopped going to school because of social stigma and threats.
The victim was sent to her aunty’s home nearby Narhgarh town to study at a private school. On November 21, three local youths identified as Hitesh Galav, Arjun Nagar and Deendayal Sharma allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped her.
The father of the victim alleged that the Narhgarh police lodged a false case under Section 366 of IPC instead of rape under Section 376 of IPC and sections of POSCO Act. The victim even claimed that she was threatened by the police personnel and the ‘powerful’ accused and forced her to record statements under Section 164 before the Kishanganj magistrate that one of the three accused was her husband and she had left home with him on her own wish and that nothing wrong was committed with her. …read more
